Teaching is one of my greatest passions. I originally finished my doctorate at Yale in anticipation of becoming a full time college professor, but my excitement about Sō Percussion lead me initially to a loft in Brooklyn instead. In the 15 years since, I have been honored to teach in many different guises: as performer-in-residence at Princeton University, in the Sō Percussion Summer Institute that I co-founded with my colleagues, and for six years in the new percussion studio of the Bard College Conservatory of Music. I have also conducted masterclasses at more than 80 colleges and conservatories around the world.

These days, I’m looking to stay home as often as possible with my family when not touring with Sō, and so I’m starting this online teaching studio!
